Release 2026.01.09

Upgraded User Interface

Release 2026.01.09 focuses on upgrades to String Theory's user interface. The entire user experience has been upgraded with improved layouts, controls and theming. Key improvements include new user input controls for the selection of Musical Key, Mode and Instrument.

Circle of Fifths

Were excited to announce that this release includes a new "Circle of Fifths" interface element for selecting musical keys. This new interface element appears in modals when selecting a Musical Key.

User Controls

Our top level user controls for selection of Musical Key, Mode and Instrument have changed from dropdown menus to popup modals. This enhancement allowed us to include Circle of Fifths controls and provides more space for choosing Modes. It also helps make String Theory more accessible for users on mobile devices.

Dark Mode

One of our favorite new features is the ability to change to a Dark Mode theme. Dark mode can be enabled by clicking on the new Moon icon that appears at the top right of application screens. Dark Mode is great for using String Theory at night or just to give your eyes a break from bright screen background.

Mobile Layout

Providing a robust experience for mobile screens is a challenge for String Theory's complex feature set. Small screens have limited space and special attention is required to design features that work for screens of this size. StringTheoryPRO is committed to continuing to ensure that all our features are accessible regardless of the device you prefer to use. This often requires trade-offs that allow feature accessibility on small screens while maintaining the enhanced user interface elements on larger screens.
