Chord Book

The Chord Book is the latest feature to land at StringTheoryPRO. This new screen displays chords for the instrument of your choosing (Guitar, Bass or Ukulele). Chords are selectable by root note (A, B, C, etc) and grouped by Chord Type (Major, Minor, Diminished, Major 7, etc).

CAGED Ready

Chords in the chord book are always displayed in each of the 5 positions (CAGED for Guitar and Bass, CAGFD for Ukulele). This makes in easy to quickly see everywhere you can play a chord on your fretboard.

New Chord Families

We've added 2 new chord families for sus4 and 7th chords. In StringTheoryPRO, chord families are diatonic, meaning they build chords based on the notes in the key and mode of your choosing.

While sus4 and 7th chord families have been added, they are not all fully available in the user interface just yet. Each new chord family can produce chords of multiple chord types (example major 7, minor 7, dominate 7). Chords from the 7th family are now accessible in the Chord Book, with plans to add access to other chord families from other application screens as well.

Non Diatonic

The Chord Book lives outside the selection of a key and mode. This allows visitors to use the chord book as a reference. Players who want to see which chords play well together can use the Fretboard Map for that purpose.
